So you want to know about me, eh? You have two choices:
1) Read my regular blog for insights into my fascinating life
)
2) Look below for some quick, random, and hopefully equally fascinating, facts:
I see that you’ve chosen option number 2 …
~ My favorite movie: The Road to Perdition
~ My favorite song: Old Time Rock & Roll by Bob Segar
~ My favorite book: Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
~ I have a terrier/chihuahua/pug mix dog named Lexi who I ADORE … but I’m actually a cat person (go figure!).
~ Since I cannot have Lexi in my apartment, I have a bamboo plant named Bob (He originally came as a single stem from Target and has since grown to jungle-like proportions).
~ I have a little brother who has just entered college this year as a freshman and I secretly find it fascinating to analyze how he transitions into his new college culture (oh American Studies … how you’ve corrupted me …).
~ I’ve changed my major three times since coming to UMBC and my career goals more frequently than that! It’s okay though, I guess I just know a little bit about a LOT of random stuff. Yay!
~ I am addicted to television. Programming the VCR (I know, I know, so old fashioned) controls my life. Chances are, we probably have some favorite shows in common (and if not, I can always squeeze a few more into my hectic schedule).
~ Although I am a French minor, I don’t really like crepes or Paris … or poodles. I do love the Mediterranean and French bullfighting and especially my local Aixois American Football team, the Argonauts.
to be continued …
WHAT!? you dont like crepes? I am extremely dissapointed…
What can I say? I love Nutella, but just not the crepe part of it! Actually, at one point, I’d convinced myself that it was healthier to eat Nutella from a spoon instead of on bread since the spoon was “calorie-free” … !!! bonjour French fifteen!
I will be attending french 101 for the first time and I was wondering if you had any advice for me upon learning this popular language.
Also, If you like comedy shows you should check out a show called “its always sunny in philadelphia” I think its the funniest show on TV
Happy Holidays
Well, I obviously love French so I’m a little biased. As far as advice goes, I find it really helpful to look for patterns of similarities between English and French (after all, the Norman Invasion and all that, haha …). A lot of French words are quite similar to some of our more formal English words. If you read a lot and have a large vocabulary in English, you’ll find that really helpful.
I haven’t seen that show, but I’ve been hearing good reviews! Maybe I’ll have to try and catch it sometime!
